An Apron of course!
Child number 3 has 4 party's in the next 2 weeks....I have a present stash in my linen cupboard and pulled out a cup cake kit....found a pack of tea-towels I have been hoarding and made some bias binding ties...and there you have it....an apron to go with it...pleased I am!

What is a staple birthday present that I like to by for kids? Besides the cushions I made with their name on it....it would have to be Pajamas. Always handy and what kid couldn't do with another pair...But they are a bit boring for the wee ones.
So I made this little guy...a PJ Monster he eats kids pajamas...

On saturday me eldest daughter turned 10.
Where did 10 years go?
Holly wanted a sleep over party, they slept outside in a tent...Slept probably isn't the right word!
Mr Monty and I took them Zorbing at Sfearfactor, where they hop into a hug blow up ball and half fill it with water and roll you down the hill, the girls thought it was the best thing ever! They looked like they were in a washing machine!
Holly bailed out of the tent at 2am and went to her own bed the other girls party on. The last time I looked at my clock it was 3.30am and they were still giggling.
Never again! no it wasn't to bad they were good fun. Pancakes and ice-cream with Maple Syrup for Breakfast. Send them home tired and wired !
Who would have thought I could have such a stubborn, fun, bright, cheeky, lazy,happy girl! Your becoming more of a challenge each year but I never thought it would be easy, you bring so much to our family and we all love you lots!

So my three year old has her first real party on Saturday and she is very excited. I recently brought the "Worry Dolls" pattern from Kelly and couldn't wait to get started. So this gave me the push I needed.
I had the doll all cut out and ironed on in not time and then jumped on my machine and off I went.
Its very wonky as it took me a bit to get back into the free motion of it all. Working with a smaller piece was tricky as well, I used some thrifted sheet that you may have seen before it has little grey petals and roses on it here and there.
I wasn't planning on the free motion quilting but it needed it and before I knew it I was done. I used the left over bias binding from the vintage sheet quilt and scraps from my scrap basket. The cushion insert was 2.99 from Spotlight.
Busting at the seams but Oh well im not a perfectionist, (Sorry if you are must be hard to look at.)I often wonder why I make such elaborate gifts for children I don't really know? It was fun and surprisingly quick to make. Now Im making one for each of my own kidlets. So I can justify this one as practice...
So there you have it, another present done and dusted!

I used thrifted sheets. I need to attempt buttons holes on my new machine, thus the procrastination begins... I would like to add some pockets too.
I enjoyed putting this dress together and I think I may make a few more. I found a great tutorial if anyone is interested, helped me alot. Polka dot bug blog.
And for a mum at school who had her second child yesterday, I revamped a Huggies wipes container. Glue gun got a work out. Love the result.
And made a matching changing mat and burp cloth not pictured, cause It still needs to be sewn together.
Ive been buzy with the hook too.

My number 2 child started school today! Thats two down and two to go folks!
Three kids in the street started including Riley.
He was very excited, and so was mum... I was at the end of my rope, with the two older ones driving me insane with the Game boy, Wii and computer...I have to limit the time they stare at all these screens. Glad school has started.

So I was MIA for a week, ive been having a lovely time (sort of).
We went to the beach for a little time away from home...
We had great weather, I got burnt pretty badly just in my legs, couldn't sleep or hardly walk the next day...I was worrying about everyone else having sun protection and forgot about myself.
Don't you just love the vintage umbrellas that people have, this was ours...
And I love the blue rose one above....so cute.
We spent Australia Day beach side listened to a very cool Blues Brothers band and the we were treated to the most amazing Fire works display!
The kids really enjoy it, the younger ones were a bit scared, but we made it into a Popping game.
The littlest didn't take to sleeping in a porta cot so I had hardly any sleep for 3 nights. Needless to say Im happy to be home.
You wouldn't be able to tell she was the culprit.
On the crafting front I should be back with some Owl goodness, as Im finishing up the Order for Pip...

My Niece and my eldest have got the crafting bug.
It was bound to happen.Holly chose to draw her own creation and stitch it. While my niece chose to complete the Melly and Me's little Kokeshi Doll.
They both did an amazing job.
We have also completed some birdie applique's
And made some Zack Monsters which Im yet to take a photo of.
I finished my sister's Twilight inspired gloves just in time for Christmas. Although she may have to wait awhile to wear them as it mega hot here today. 36 Degree's
And I managed to make myself a bag yesterday arvo, whilst I should have been making for others.
I Love it, its made from thrifted sheets of course! I managed to get my hands on the same sheets in two different colour ways, you can see the other colour underneath the handle. To finish it off a pretty vintage glass button. That was the hardest bit picking the button. Its a free pattern from the lovely Tiny Happy Blog which has been on my to do list for ages!
And check out my little climber! She is driving mummy insane, and she is walking pretty much. This is her new favorite climbing toy. My TV cabinet.
Lastly my little Man graduated Kinder. So sweet they made them all graduation hats and handed them Diplomas. His wearing his school uniform as it was dress up day. Not so little any more. Boo hoo.
