I received my Pillow Talk Swap cushion.
I asked for something to match my new mushroom brown cord couch. I'm still to take photos of and show you all, I will get there eventually. The Pillow cover is amazing with little folds in the stars, its very cleverly put together.
Thank you to my partner who lives in Canada....I love it and cant wait to get an insert for it!
Here's a look at the cushion I made my mum and dad. The kid hands cut out of linen, and then quilted around.
the fabric around the boarders was an extra from the Pillow talk Swap...how perfect is that, great timing.
And the back. I thinK my mum will love it. I think my Dad might have to be compensated with a movie gift voucher! he-he.
On another note, I now have a big four year old girl in my house. She has been my constant companion this year and starts Four year old kinder next year, I love having her around, I will make sure I cherish this next year we have together before she starts school in 2012.
Cheek as she may be, she is also our lovable grinch...hard to believe from this photo, but man you can be an aggro little bugger!
Have a Great Christmas Peeps and I will see you al in the new year....
Oh and I managed to finish all five cushions, so now I have some last minute sewing to do and two more gift vouchers to buy...How bout you are you all done?
My Pillow Talk Swap 4, pillow is on its way to its new home. This is my first Pillow Talk swap and I love it as it took me out of my usual.
The front was all hand pieced and actually for a quilt, as the back is done the same time as the front.
You'll have to excuse the crappy pictures as my battery charger still is lost and Ive ordered a new one and preying it comes before christmas!
After the front was done I reinforced the top with machine stitches running down each line as I was worried about wear and tear. I then added boarders and the back.
I made a free motion tag to go on the back. My partner liked earthy tones but also loved linen with colour, I really loved how it turned out.
A bit of running stitch added some interest.
And from the scrap's I made a mug rug as an extra.
and had a go at some thread sketching, I really enjoyed it and I'm sure you'll be seeing more.
Well christmas is upon us and this is the last week of school so I'm trying hard to finish my handmade gifts, add in that tomorrow is my No. 3 's birthday and last day of kinder for the year and I have to back a cake to take as well as the hot food for the party they are having and I'm in get organised mode too.
I'm attempting to make this cake today wish me luck!
I received my Hoop from the Scrappy Hoop Swap on flickr.
Ask and you shall receive, right colours and with an Owl, Tilly was just as thrilled as I was!
Made by Jules from Relish Australia She did a fantastic job..Love it. Thanks Jules.
The quote is from Winnie the pooh...to cute.
And this is another swap I made for a Mug Rug Swap I hosted on Swap-bot. My Partner loves colour, so I gave her colour, she also likes vintage sheets, so I added a doily and the back is from my blue stack of sheets
A bit of fun using up my scraps.
I'm off to Dayelsford this weekend for a girls weekend away, massage and Market, I cant wait! Dinner's out with no kids to spoil it and I'm still deciding if I will sleep in or wake up early and go for a walk...depends on how much wine is consumed!
Enjoy your weekend what ever your up too.

I join in a swap over at Sooz it was to "Make Something Useful "and earth friendly which suits me down to a tea. Now that most people have there packages I can show you what I made.
Reusable Snack Bags and Sandwich Wraps. They were all made using thrifted vintage napkins and materials. I have a Easy Peasy Tutorial for the snack bags.
This is the inside of the wrap I just cut up a big zip lock bag that was food safe and sewed it to the inside of the napkin, then added velcro at certain spots.
I think they turned out a treat!
Tilly Turned two last week and we had a Tea Party on Sunday with family and friends it was great. But now im stuffed. Be back with the tutorial soon.
Hugs Leah x
Why is it when you make a swap you go all out and then wish you could keep it for yourself? Only then to swear you"ll make another one for the kids and you never do. Sound familiar?
This is Sleeping Sophie, made for a swap. Shes a free pattern from Owlishly Mia has some beautiful patterns ans this on is called Sleepy Sarah. I re-named mine.
Isn't she darling. The teddy is a free pattern too, from where else Lion Brand
Fiddly but well worth it. I added a scarf too.
So I better pack her up for the long flight home. *sniff*
2 more sleeps till Sew it Together!
Now that Riley is at school he gets to be a big boy and take money to spend at the canteen. Thus the need for a wallet arose. I opened my mouth as usual and said I'II make one for him. So I surfed the net and founds lots of cute wallets that hold cards but I needed on that held change.
Then I did a search on my Favorite daily site, One Pretty Thing and found a tutorial for this little beauty.
Made from denim off cuts from some jeans I took up, and some stash fabrics. Has pockets for Footy Cards or Pokemon cards...
This easy tutorial can be found at Balancing Everything in her side bar you'll find lots of cool things to make, including this Boys wallet.
For a bit of fun I used this brick fabric Ive had forever and graffiti-ed it.
Let you know what he thinks of it.
I received my Gnome package today and look how sweet this guy is!Sawp-bot rocks
Im in love he isn't Pesky like my gnome, this guy is adorable and Tilly ran off with him saying "MINE". which Ive never heard her say. Speaking of her she is saying "cheese" every time the camera comes out she follows me around yelling cheese.
Cant believe she is nearly two. Where did the time go? Arr that means Ive nearly been blogging for 2 years. Fun
Have a wicked weekend and a Relaxing Mothers Day to you all.
Hugs Leah x
Yes today I received confirmation that Tanya received my Pin Cushion for the Fox Lane Pin cushion Swap.
The funny thing is I think we both liked the little pair key ring I made her, better than the cushion.
It is pretty adorable. Thanks Tanya for your lovely post and thank to Kate for hosting such a fun swap.
Now for the winner of the second pin cushion... Kate did guess right but felt bad cause she ran the swap even though it truly was a genuine guess. So What I did is put all comments from that post into a draw.
Mandy Yay...no postage for me! (I'II give it to you next time I see you.)
So there you have it folks. Thanks for playing.
Now to finish up my very late Button swap...
When I started to crochet these hexagons...
I had it in my Head that I would make them into a cute cushion for my couch, something like Tif has made for her stunning home...my dream home....
(picture from Dottie Angle)
See how incredibly sweet they are, but in my house they wouldn't stay so white, with sticky little fingers abound. But a girl can dream...
So I have a swap due for a Pin Cushion and I have these Hexes and I see the Emma Lamb blog and fall in love with her Pin Cushion Miss Beryl....OMG. so the next think you know its dinner time and Im cooking and decide to pull out my machine and sew up some cotton Hexagons to make the interior of the cushion...
Low and behold I was finished with in the hour and manged to get dinner on the table...never happens.
Its the cutest little cushion or Mega Pin Cushion!
Its about 8 Inches across and 4 inches high, do you think thats to big for a Pin Cushion? I have to send it to the U.S not sure weather to keep it and make something smaller?
Either way Im in love and can see more coming! Even bigger...
Stay at home mum of four
