Art or Not?

Hello peeps and stalkers...

Im sorry for the lack of blogging...kids are on holidays... and my life has turned upside down...but back to normal next week...gratefully

So a good friend of mine talked me into joining an Artist group...called Thou Art Mum

we are all mothers who create.. I was hesitant to say the least as I don't consider my self an Artist. What is an Artist? I create I make but I wouldn't call it Art. So hears the thing..I'm going to exhibit a piece of work in their next up coming exhibition. We were to create something to pay TRIBUTE to our favorite artist.

Now when people think artists they think Van Gogh....me I think Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam....lol...yes I'm paying tribute to my favorite band and singer...to me he is and amazing artist and I create to his voice and songs everyday...I exercise to them and clean my house to them. So will I be laughed out of the exhibition? Im willing to take a chance.

So with out saying anymore here is my master piece...lol...(not)

Tea Towel + Bias Binding =

An Apron of course!

 
Child number 3 has 4 party's in the next 2 weeks....I have a present stash in my linen cupboard and pulled out a cup cake kit....found a pack of tea-towels I have been hoarding and made some bias binding ties...and there you have it....an apron to go with it...pleased I am!

Enjoy your weekend....my boy turns 7 next week so it family over for a BBQ for us. See you on the flip side.

He likes to eat Pajamas

What is a staple birthday present that I like to by for kids? Besides the cushions I made with their name on it....it would have to be Pajamas. Always handy and what kid couldn't do with another pair...But they are a bit boring for the wee ones.

Long Time....

Between Drinks! between posts...finishing this quilt.

Lost the blogging mojo...life is busy, but I'm still making, creating and hooking.

Finished a quilt I started last year....The Vintage Sheet Bento Box Quilt...(that's a mouthful)

 
Took forever to push this thing under my machine to quilt it. But I got it done, and I'm so happy!

 
The bento box isn't as defined as Id like but I'm still happy with how it turned out..

 

I stuck with white binding...I think anything else would have been to much.

 
especially for the back...which I love just as much as the front...maybe more.

 
The close up of my wonky machine quilting :) The orange floral was my parents in the 70's...I'm quite fond of it.

Now for the warmer weather to come so I can put it on my Bed.

 

Baby Gifts

Long time no blog....Ive been busy making and living....

 
My new neighbours had a baby boy.... Had fun putting this little gift together for him.

 
I free motioned his name on to the bib... The boots are very fiddly but so worth the effort.

 
and finished my geometric quilt backed it with soft T-shirt  like material...and made a few hats with the left overs....but then my bestie went and had a boy so the quilt was put aside....lucky I had just finished knitting a grey vest so blocked that and gifted it with the hats instead...will make a boy geo...eventually.

So many friends are popping out children and that's good for me cause I like to make gifts especially baby ones.

 
These are for a friends sister who had her third girl a few weeks ago. I backed the bib with toweling so its functional as well as pretty.

Just hope its appreciated...have you been reading Kate's Posts on Handmade gifts...so true that some people just don't get handmade.

On the baby front my BBF had a baby boy today....Super excited....so need a boy around here!
