My Eldest Daughter went off to came a week or so ago, and they were asked to bring little travel games for the bus. That's when I remembered this game I saw in a Mag some where.
Naughts and Crosses, I called them a game of Hugs and Kisses, so she would remember me! Not that I want to hug and kiss her at the moment, eight year olds, Im so over her at the moment, we so but heads.... anyway sorry, where was I
It was so simple to make, all you need is
Some felt for the board, scrap felt for the cross on the bag
calico for the draw string bag, some ribbon or twill, for the string
two colours of modeling clay/flymo, for the playing pieces. And your sewing machine
Just cut the felt to your liking, just keep it square, I used pinking sheers, and sew on some lines.
With the clay, just roll into small balls and press down with your thumb creating a flat surface, you can draw in your 0 & X with a skewer or needle or I used my stamp kit to stamp them on, then colored them in after the clay was cooked ( follow your packet directions for the cooking time).
To make the bag cut a long rectangle piece and fold in half and sew up sides. Fold down the top leaving enough room for your ribbon/ pull cord to thread trough. and sew around leaving a hold to tread through, fold right way round and with a safety pin on one end of your string thread through hole. I cheat and unpick a hole in the side seam to allow for the cord to come out.
Lastly embellish your bag with a x and or 0. Have fun playing your new portable game!
Well I think that was my first tutorial! Sort of... well may be... Better go xoxoxo
