Playing with Sheets

in my creative space I got to PLAY with my sheets, I had an order to fill, it was so nice to see all the different patterns coming together to make one yummy pile.

 
I really hope that I get to see what is made with these beauties.

My son has had so many birthday Party's of late it gave me a chance to make one of these

 
Its a Fort Kit,

 
Also made from thrifted sheets and a Pillow case for the drawstring bag. The tutorial can be found at Salt-Water Kids. I purchased a sheet that was a good size and thickness, and sewed on loops at each corner and a casing for a rope to be threaded through the middle to make a tent, added suction cups with hooks and big clamps so that the fort can be built inside or out, and for some fun a torch and compass, all found at the dollar store. Even the label is available on her blog along with a rainbow one for the girls. I used printable canvas for the label.

I'm yet to see the birthday boys mother, feel the need to explain it to her, although its all written on the front.

Have another birthday party this weekend and next, so I should get cracking.

Ive had this bag cut out for ages and finally finished it whilst the kids were in bed. Its made from a linen table cloth never used.

and my Mans good mate had a baby Boy so I sat on cup day and made these.

That's what ive been up to and in the mean time the house looks like its exploded and there is debris everywhere, the mess my two youngest can make is unbelievable!

My Creative Space

"Necessity is the mother of all invention."

My space this week was born from necessity.  I had a "I'm sick of this", moment and this little project came to me.

 

If you've ever been in the laundry and said, "didn't I just wash these?" or "this was only worn once!" than you'd like this.

 
Its going to help me lessen my load and help the little people in the house know where to look.

 
Made from scraps and raw edge applique, a bit of free motion and quilting, and I'm loving what I see.

My creative mess

Swaps are a lot of work.

Especially when you join two that are due around the same time.

And this is the mess it creates when your packing them up to go! Crikey....

My kitchen bench is under there somewhere.

Well worth the work when you see what you get back...

Saved from the curb - Creative space.

You like? The people down the road put it out for collection, I looked and debated over it for a few days and then my mum helped me load it up in the back of my bus and its now on my front porch.

Im procrastinating as usual, I need to rip up that seat and replace the wadding as its moldy in the corners. But I have purchased my fabric for the cushion.

Isn't it yum. I ordered it from the Fat Quarter Shop.  Im loving the colour combo and think I want to do my room in these colours. Thus the chair will become part of it, If I can pull it off.

Im thinking buttery yellow on the wood if im game, or white if Im playing it safe.

My Creative space

This is my first CS since last year, it took me till April to get back into the swing of things..thats slack. Any who, today I spent two hours putting massive stickers on the wall.

They came rolled up on backing paper than I had to put the contact over the top of them, Then you pull the backing paper off and stick the stickers and contact to your wall. (get that)Then you begin the fun part! Peeling off the contact trying to leave the design sticker on the wall.

Took for-eva  but I think it was worth it. I eventually ended up peeling the sticker of the contact and applying the sticker myself and I still have another one to go. How many times can I say sticker? Isnt the correct term Decal...

 I plan to tackleit a bit differently. In sections, manageable sections....

Has been al about getting these guys finished.

Today I finished the last one, I put it together last night...

Its my antique Owl...what do you think? is it a yay or nay?

Im liking the mohawk effect on the back.

They are all made from thrifted materials...even the stuffing.

I had fun with them,.\\ Now they are off to Meet me at Mikes...Yay.

Kids in the Kitchen

This weeks creative space is in my own personal hell! The kitchen and kids don't mix with me thrown in.

My boy has been asking to make Ginger bread for ages, It seemed like a nice christmasy thing to do.

The wine bottle is my rolling pin. cant believe I dont own one.

I think I may just have to crack open that red. This is my kitchen right now as I write this post. Im supposed to be preparing a picnic for Riley's kinder christmas party. Hot chook and rolls, I reckon.

My creative space

I had a dream last night and just had to try and make this bag I dreamt of. Do you ever do that?

I brought this table cloth and napkins from the oppie ages ago and thought it just right to try my design.

So off I went drawing up what I saw in my dream.

The most distinguishing part was the handles. And so I cut.

The handles are made from the napkins. Its a really pretty green colour which you can see real well in these photos. Ive sewn them up and sorry I have no more pics, but you can come back when its finished, im quite liking how its taking shape.

Whilst Im sewing I have these beautiful old fashion roses in a vase.

They smell divine and I thought I'd share them with you!

Oh and one last thing. we got a new toy here at Monty Mayhem.

The number plate says ENVIE....what a crack. The boy is in love. Didn't know I rode did you.

15 days till Pearl Jam...woohoo. Kootoyoo has more great spaces.

and on a yellow note, Ive been making blocks for Block of the month swap, this month is meant to be Dark Yellow.

I think it's more sunny colours. Quite fitting with the weather out side of late, Im off to enjoy the sun.
