Warning Photo heavy post!
So Im Back from my totally amazing weekend at Sewjourn with the ever delightful Kellie from Don't look now.
Firstly the cottage style home in Lancfield was just beautiful and Jan who Owns the place stayed with us and cooked for us all, so I felt really spoiled all weekend long. The food was amazing.
I didn't take a photo of the house but I did take a few of the interesting things to look at. If I had a proper craft room I'd want this on my wall.
This is the converted barn which is a fantastic space to sit and sew, two great big long tables and plenty of room to spread out.
This was the view we had whilst we were sewing!!!
I found the whole place just charming,
and as for actually sewing something and being productive, we were.
Here is my piece I worked on before it was free motioned.
Here is my piece after, It was Hard Work I tell you, I had to do three practice pieces as big as this to get there. But I love every minute of it. Kellie was wonderful and at our side any time we needed help. I will be making it into a cushion folks so stay tuned.
We got to see Kellie's work up close and its more amazing than you can imagine!
Photos just don't do them justice. I so want this quilt for my bed!
It was really fun seeing everyones different colour ways. This was Kerry's are the colours just divine together.
And here we all are, Kellie's holding my creation. starting from Top Left is Jan (owner of sewjourn), Next is Kerry, next is Mary who drove all the way from Canberra, Next is Kylie my room mate ! and then there is Donna who drove down with Mary, and at the bottom left is the always lovely Lara (thornberry)and Kellie....Great bunch of gals to spend the weekend with.
And this is what everyone came up with, I love them all. But my favorite was Lara's
So that's a wrap, Thanks you to Kellie and Jan, I had the most amazing time and learned so many tips and trick and got to play with my new machine from Sun up to sun down, Im lacking in sleep but who cares really!
I got home and the dinner was cooked the house was amazingly clean and the kids were ever so happy to have me home. My verdict, I need to go away more often. lol.
How was your weekend?
A big Happy birthday to my lil' sis Renee for yesterday. My turn next week.

It was lovely to meet you Leah - I hope you had as much fun on the weekend as me.......can't wait to practise some more free motion machining......just need a bit of sleep first!

It was a brilliant weekend, wasn't it Leah! I am so flattered that you liked my practice piece! I love yours! Off to buy a cushion insert for mine tomorrow, and then to research how to upgrade my sewing machine. But first - I need some serious sleep!
